Basses don’t get more beautiful that this!!! I LOVE SG-shaped basses, but in white they’re to die for.
This is a rare short-scale custom shop version of the EB-3, similar to the original 60s Gibson. The old Gibbo’s are famous for their ‘mudbucker’ tone which refers to the massive neck pickup. These re-issue basses have a much more (imho) ‘useable’/flexible tone as there is much more treble content available. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still not a very bright-sounding bass, but to my ears have that vintage tone, plus extra. Roll the treble off and it sounds pretty muddy to me lol.
This is an absolutely stunning example, and I’ve set it up with a lovely low action and GHS Super Steels strings. The bass is completely mint aside from a small crack in the laquer where one of the machine head screws has been slightly over-tightened.
